Information, services and solutions for producers to manage Business-to-Business WEEE, Batteries and Packaging compliance across Europe
The WEEE and RoHS Directives
These directives are having a significant impact on the electrical and electronics industry. Producers of electrical and electronic equipment are facing strict new compliance rules for collection, recycling and recovery of waste equipment.

WEEE compliance and registration requirements
Manufacturers and importers of business products are required to register as a 'WEEE producer' and manage WEEE collection, recycling and reporting in every member state where they sell products.
The registration process and management requirements are different in each EU member state. We offer a web-based solution which enables you to easily meet these WEEE collection, recycling and reporting requirements. We also help you complete your WEEE producer registrations in each member state where you sell products.

WEEE registration & reporting in the UK
The UK WEEE Regulations implement a completely different WEEE producer registration system compared to any other member state and require all manufacturers and importers to join an approved WEEE Producer Compliance Scheme. We run the first fully approved scheme for Business-to-Business Producers in the UK.

The Batteries Directive
The new Batteries Directive 2006/66/EC applies to all types of batteries regardless of their shape, volume, weight, material composition or use. The Directive also specifically includes batteries which are incorporated into electrical equipment, apart from batteries contained in military and space equipment.
Overview of the legislation | Am I a 'Batteries Producer'?
Batteries compliance and registration requirements
The Batteries Directive introduces substance restrictions, labelling requirements for new batteries and requirements for new electrical equipment to be designed so that batteries can be easily removed. Battery manufacturers and importers of batteries (including batteries which are incorporated into electrical equipment) are also required to register as a 'batteries producer' and manage battery collection, recycling and reporting in every EU Member State where they sell batteries or equipment containing batteries.
The registration process and management requirements are different in each EU Member State. ENVIRON can assess legal exposure to the Batteries Directive for sales of your equipment in Europe and provide a detailed Compliance Action Plan for your company. We also help you complete your batteries producer registrations in EU Member State where you sell batteries or equipment containing batteries. Our quarterly update service will keep you up to date as EU Member States finalize the details of their national regulations over the coming year.

The Packaging Directive
The Packaging Directive places significant requirements on companies selling packaging and packaged goods in Europe.
Packaging Compliance Requirements
Companies who sell packaging and packaged goods in Europe must comply with packaging substance restrictions, reusability and marking requirements and provide for packaging collection, recycling and reporting. The Directive requires 'responsible parties’ to comply with the Directive when the packaged goods are placed on the market in any EU Member State. Responsible parties can include suppliers of packaging materials, packaging producers and converters, fillers and users, importers and traders and distributors of packaging and packaged goods.
