Changes in Italian legislation mean waste take-back and transport will soon be subject to notification requirements under the System to Trace Collection and Transport of Waste (SISTRI) for certain types and producers of waste in Italy, including WEEE.

Italian Decree law 138/2011 on financial stabilisation measures, published on 13 August 2011 delays implementation of the SISTRI system which was due to be phased in from 1 September 2011. Instead, notification under SISTRI is now likely to be required from February 2012.

thinkstep's pan-European web-based WEEE Compliance Systems enable B2B producers to continue to comply with non-hazardous WEEE collection and transport requirements in Italy. Our Annual WEEE Update Service also ensures producers stay informed of any changes to WEEE collection and recycling requirements in each EU Member State.
