Croatia becomes the 28th EU Member State

July 2013

On 1 July 2013, Croatia became the 28th member of the EU. Croatia applied to become an EU Member State in 2003 and began negotiations in 2005.

Throughout the interim period until accession, Croatia adopted legislation to transpose EU law. Regulations published in OJ 74/07 transpose the RoHS Directive and most requirements of the WEEE Directive.
