Producers of portable batteries
Compliance through a collective system is likely to be most practical approach.
Producers of industrial batteries
Individual compliance is permitted. A waste plan must also be submitted to the Ministry of Environment for individual systems.
Packaging requirements
Obligated parties must register and submit data based on the amount of packaging handled to the Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Environment.
The deadline for meeting recycling targets in Cyprus is delayed until 31 December 2012 in accordance with the amendment to the revised Directive, 2005/20/EC.
Thresholds
The Packaging and Packaging Waste Law applies to all packaging placed on the Cyprus market. There are no thresholds for companies who only handle small quantities of packaging.
