WEEE: Single contract for Pan-European B2B WEEE recycling

thinkstep arranges a single contract with a European recycling network to provide in-country recycling in all Member States. The recycling network was formed in May 2005 from five of the largest WEEE recycling companies in Europe:

  • Coolrec
  • STENA Technoworld
  • Indumetal
  • Electrocycling
  • Ecotronics

Coverage of EARN partner companies in Europe

The average recycling cost for non-hazardous WEEE across Member States is currently €165 per tonne. Recycling data compliance reporting to the WEEE Agency in each Member State, and assistance with WEEE producer registration (i.e. translation of company registration data into national language and submission of relevant forms to the WEEE Agency) is €500 per country per year.

Licensed waste carriers

To comply with the Waste Framework Directive, carriers used to transport WEEE must have appropriate waste carriers licences and the transport of WEEE must be accompanied by the required waste transfer documentation in most EU Member States. Our solution uses licenced waste carriers in each Member State and includes the required waste transfer documentation.
